Just setup a new server on digital ocean to replace an old server on my LAN, so the setup is a bit different.

I am able to connect and register an outbound trunk and SIP extensions using cisco SPA phones and a SPA400.

If I dial an incorrect extension from an extension, then I can see in the logs that it reports:

    -- <SIP/crankshaft-0000001c> Playing 'silence/1.ulaw' (language 'en')

    -- <SIP/crankshaft-0000001c> Playing 'cannot-complete-as-dialed.ulaw' (language 'en')

    -- <SIP/crankshaft-0000001c> Playing 'check-number-dial-again.ulaw' (language 'en')

However that audio is not heard in the SIP extension earpiece.

If I dial an external number, the call connects and can hear the audio from the extension to the external mobile phone, however there is no audio sent from the mobile phone to the SIP extension.

I have enabled NAT on the SIP extension, and in the SIP Settings > Network I have added the public IP address of the server, however this seems to make no difference whatsoever.

I have also enabled all CODECs.

I have seen other posts where there is no audio both ways, but nothing about the SIP extension only not getting any audio.

Any suggestions on what the issue may be ?

Go to SIP Settings > TAB Network > NAT > Force, Comedia and enter External Address
